I'm a member of ARCA (near Manor) and have visited the south club (Hill Country Areomodelers). I would join whichever club was most geographically convenient for you.
The Austin Radio Control Assosiation (ARCA) flying field is right next to a trap and skeet range so noise is not so much of a problem. ARCA's monthly club meetings are on the last Thursday of the month at the flying field.

If you show up at the ARCA field on a Wednesday evening and someone is flying this electric plane, that would be me.
