I would take it back and get the cash...then go check out one of the rc drift forums like DRC or RCDori and get a used hobby grade car. There are deals to be had in your price range, and this way you can upgrade as your skills get better. Alot of the time ,it's seasoned drifters selling already set-in drift cars. Be sure to check the ebay listings at the forums also.
oh, and all the drift cars are gonna have 4wd, the ideal set-up is locked diff in the rear with a one-way up front
