Eh, you might not really drift to good with it. Most wal-mart store drifters don't have enough horsepower to keep the tires broken loose and get to a good speed. Take it back and get something hobby grade.

I would take it back and get the cash...then go check out one of the rc drift forums like DRC or RCDori and get a used hobby grade car. There are deals to be had in your price range, and this way you can upgrade as your skills get better. Alot of the time ,it's seasoned drifters selling already set-in drift cars. Be sure to check the ebay listings at the forums also.
oh, and all the drift cars are gonna have 4wd, the ideal set-up is locked diff in the rear with a one-way up front

Don't worry abt what everyone else thinks. If you're having fun - stick with it. Having fun is all that matters.

I would say that you should just have fun with your Tyco for a while. If and once you decide that you really like it and want to get better. Then you can look for a good used drifter or purchase a TT-01.

Ok, Many Hard core Drifters will laugh at you for getting a Tyco drift king, dont attend a RC Drift meet with one for your own safety.
But lets get back to the point... The Drift King has all the Qualities needed to practice drifting, it runs a solid rear end, a 540 Motor and is all wheel drive..

Take the time and learn how to drift it..
Then, Graduate to a TT-01..or even a HBX TL-01..

I think your going to have fun with the Drift king untill it goes BANG as they often do.
Start saving now for a Hobby grade RC..
It is not your fault that the Marketing Hype of the "Drift King" snagged you in..
Its always a good Idea to join the forum first, then do the research and get the right gear first time..

Studysession : Please tell me thats not the original Plastic Propshaft?? a Change to the Alloy one will improve the cars performance by 30%

Yeah it is the original plastic everything. Works fine until I decide what to get. Ali shaft and metal diff gears will most likely be first upgrades. For now just have fun until it breaks.

and You got a Hacker Brushless in there!!!! YIKES!!!!!
Man on throttle that Shaft will be flexing like mad !!!!

Its gonna go pop and likely to cause damage to either your Gearing or splinter and go through your Shell..
Take care with it and get the Alloy one real soon!

Yeah if you hit full throttle ont ake off it flexes a bit. But not as bad as everyone keeps posting about. It and metal gears for the diff's will most liekly be my next hop-ups.
