Paul,
Retracts??? Do they design themselves? Too many irons in the fire for that right now. I can't believe how many people want to buy this plane and I am not ready for that yet.

I have been reading that people put up to 10 x 10 CF props an a OS 91 DF engines and tip speeds are very close to critical mach. A new world speed record of 244 mph was denied this year in Germany because of too high a wing loading.

My engine was broken in on the bench and the first flight was without a cowl. The second flight was with the cowl. It was probably a minute after the engine quit before I thought about engine temp but at that point I was able to lay my fingers accross the head without discomfort. I will check sooner Saturday when we fly. I have a Doppler program to determine speed from audio on a high speed pass. It seems fairly accurate and I hope to have some #'s this weekend. The forcast is good. There were several comments about how fast my plane was going but after flying Jett Engineering engines this TT 46 only looked kind of fast.
