You should look at a kit because then you can choose your engine and radiosystem instead of the low quality parts that often comes with an rtr. But if you get a kit then you are supposed to build it yourself!

A good idea is to find a track near you and see what kind of buggies are used there. Also look at what you can get parts for in your local hobby store.
