I started tonight.
I have the tail section mounted and the mains removed.
I have the dremal tool out and i'm trying to locate the router tool to cut in the notch for the main gear.
I see no reason why I won't be able to finish up and post a picture on Monday
Whirley Bird, how is the process coming on your project? I forgot to tell you that my trainer got totaled Saturday afternoon after a mid air collision. I was flying the trainer for about 3 minutes when a hot rodder took off at full throttle and not paying attention to the surrounding flyers and climbed directly into my left wing after takeoff which of course took me out of the sky. Just imagine balsa wood pieces in the sky from 2 planes at impacting at high speed. My trainer fell and landed nose first in the mud, which put the front end about half a foot into the ground, but the throttle was cut and the carb was closed so no mud got into the motor which is great. The fuselage was not hurt too bad, but still damaged to the point where it will not fly. The tail will have to be replaced. I can't say that I wasn't a little P'ed off but I am happier that it was the trainer instead of my 4*60. Plus, the guy bought me a brand new Avistar replacement which is a sport trainer, so in a way it is better that I got hit, but I guess I am still P'ed at the inconvenience of someone not being a courteous flyer. The plane can be rebuilt, but I don't feel like doing it right now. Maybe a little later.
Anyway, good luck with your project.. Just wanted to let you know what happened..
