Default RE: another good 2nd Plane post.

Hi there,

Years ago I had my CG Chipmunk as a second plane and it fly's tremendously! Just keep in mind to use the rudder in order to keep it straight on take off. You might want to add some up-elevator when adding throttle on take off. The Chipmunk tends to tip over on its nose when the throttle is applied to quickly. As the take-off speed builds up, gently ease on the elevator as in might take off too early and the tipstall could be inevitable.

As far as flying goes, it is a good and direct 'listener' on commando-inputs so try to fly it with smooth inputs the first few fights. With this you get aquainted to the Chipmunk's flight characteristics and, as you go 'down the road' with this plane, its aerobatic abilities as well!

The Chipmunk is pretty straightforward in landing but keep a little power to prevent a to fast decrease in speed with a probable stall. Keep it straight with the rudder and as you fly about yard above the ground set the throttle on idle and land her gently...

Cheers,
