ORIGINAL: Calixto

Finished mine last night, made the following modifications, Added a 7.5" to the wing at the center (will post pictures monday) made new main landing gear so they wouldn`t be set too far apart. weight is 6.25 pounds. Dialed inn the following throws elevator 8 mm up and down, 16 mm total, ailerons 0.5" up an down 1" total, ruder .75" left and right, 1.5" total. cg, set at .72mm from leading edge at the root.
I have a friend that built one without mods, and it flies beautifully, just lands a little hot. Very importat to set the cg. at 72mm and keep the throws in the elevator below 10mm in each direction, if you dial inn too much throw, it will snap when you give it full elevator. I am shure that is what happened to all the people that have crashed it.
Will post pictures of construction and set up monday, also a first flight report.
You are absolutely right about the elevator and snap tendencies. I trashed mine because it snapped when I pulled on the elevator coming out of a loop. Certainly a snappy little plane that must be flown fast and landed hot. Not at all like the great Planes Lancair that I have. It is just a pleasure to fly and does not snap on hard elevator pulls. Took mine out today and what a dream flyer that looks great. Good luck with the modifications to the CMP model.
