You'll want a curved pin similar to the pin on a full sized chute's main. As pressure is put on it, it self-aligns in a non-binding manner that assists in extraction. A straight pin, like on a reserve chute, is highly dependent on the direction the pull is coming from.



I imagine a bent piece of maybe .074 music wire with a little washer soldered/brazed on the end would do it.
