Default RE: Rigger for first timer ( to riggers )??

Todays update:
I have finally got my 3600mAh NiMH pack and charger.
I went to the lake today with 3 motors and 5 props and a good set of tools. Given that I would be here for a while I also packed a big hot-cup of coffee and my fags.
Well it was not to be !!
After all the motor and prop changes and strut adjustments it would still not do what I had a vision of……. That is a bloody great rooster tail and some good speed.
It was very close to me binning the boat but I now have a new plan.
I will air-power it!!
I had my weird stabilized monohull there and with the 550 and a 7x5 prop it has more power than the hull speed needs………..lightbulb comes on.
This boat has more power and the rigger has not enough.
I will now fit a mast to fit the air-screw and will have a play with that.
Given the torque of the air motor I will widen the sponson gap and do away with the turn fin.
This will be an experiment so I am open minded as how it will pan out.
I’ll be back with the results.
