The problem is the trigger voltage from the pic output pin six. Im only getting .07 volts out max ,the thyristor needs aprox 5volt on the gate. It is the same for both boards. sparkyone
Hi Sparky,
I have a very similar system working. The main difference is that I use an NPN instead of PNP transistor with appropriate other modifications. The SCR/thyristor trigger is basically the same. Can you provide a little more information about the voltage that you see on the trigger?
How did you measure it? It is a short pulse at the SCR pin, and you need a scope to measure it.
Have you isolated the trigger circuit (i.e., the RC part) from the chip and looked at only the output from microcontroller? Again, you will need a scope for that. That test is to be sure the micro is programmed and working properly.
