Beware of using plastic models as scale reference. Whilst many have improved their accuracy dramatically over the years some of the older molds, which non-plastic modellers may not be familiar with judging, are often far less dimensionally accurate. In particular, the wing folds are often simplified and therefore not based on an real mechanism designed to hold the wing together in flight.

That's not to say it isn't a good starting point for your research but be aware of the limitations in trusting a plastic model.

On the other hand, there are some excellent reference materials out there intended for the super detailing plastic modeller. Osprey books come to mind. That may be a good starting point for wing fold references.
