Nice design on the canopy there.

Regardless of whether or not you found anything obviously wrong with the fuel lines, I would replace them. I'm guessing you're using the stock fuel lines included with the kit, and those don't hold up very well after they've been exposed to some fuel. The symptoms you described really suggest a leak to me.
