Hi, does anyone know what could cause an engine to just quit. I was sat in a hover engine singing nice, then it just stopped.
it had used about 2 3rd's of a tank and up till then had been fine, although it didn't like being inverted today which is strange
,
any advice greatly welcome.
cheers

There are so many reasons why an engine would quit for no apparent reason, that it would be impossible to just even suggest something without even knowing which helicopter you are talking about.
The fact that it gave you problems while inverted when there was none before suggests fuel problems. Fuel line, fuel tanks, needle settings, ect.

been out with it again this evening after a brief check for anything obvious, it was running a temp of about 240+
so i richened it up a touch, ran well for best part of a tank. fingers crossed maybe thats all it was.
by the way its a raptor 50 with an OS50sx, running on a GV-1 and 20% technics

Nice design on the canopy there.
Regardless of whether or not you found anything obviously wrong with the fuel lines, I would replace them. I'm guessing you're using the stock fuel lines included with the kit, and those don't hold up very well after they've been exposed to some fuel. The symptoms you described really suggest a leak to me.
