I scratch built new wings for my Telemaster after a tree incident. I use struts. I just fashioned a simple plate out of brass stock and drilled them out to use a 1/4" hitch pin that I purchased at Home Despot. The other end of the strut stays attached to the wing permanently. Works like a charm. I would definitely use them. But then my Telemaster weighs 13 lbs and has a 31cc Ryobi gasser. Hope the pic helps.
