I'm about to maiden my Senior Telemaster. Even though the plans didn't show wing struts I went ahead and added them but now my lazy streak is showing up. There are three attachment points per strut and I don't want to bother with adding them at the field if they really aren't necessary anyway. Any opinions out there from other Telemaster owners?
BTW: I built the 8' wing using bolt down hardware and went with one piece construction.

I have a 8 foot telemaster i fly really hard all the time, i have a 91 four stroke on it. I dive it hard and float fly it, it flys in the wind. it has been "hard landed" several times. the wing has never caused a problem or been seriously damaged. I even had to finaly build a new fusealoge for it but the same wing and tail feathers. Have fun with it i have others but i still love the telemaster , its just not as fast but it sure floats.

Thanks Waterlogged. First hand experience is what I was hoping to hear.
Did you take any unusual steps with the wing or just follow the plans?

My Feedback: (109)
Mine has no struts as well-I am powering mine with a Saito 72 and I loop and roll, in other words just lazy summer afternoon aerobatics and never had any issues, I did install a glow driver on the engine so I can thermal at idle and not worry about the engine dying -alot of fun

Thanke Plane Jim. I fly at a dry lake so dead engines present no problem (:-). I have however been looking at the glow power for four strokes as any true addict would. The $70.00 looks a little steep though. Perhaps I'll build my own.
Waaay back in the mid 80s we added a battery to our slow flyers so we could throttle way back. I just need to dig out the method from my rusty memory banks.

I scratch built new wings for my Telemaster after a tree incident. I use struts. I just fashioned a simple plate out of brass stock and drilled them out to use a 1/4" hitch pin that I purchased at Home Despot. The other end of the strut stays attached to the wing permanently. Works like a charm. I would definitely use them. But then my Telemaster weighs 13 lbs and has a 31cc Ryobi gasser. Hope the pic helps.
