Kyosho kit C-124 Globemaster
The DC-6s in this thread are awesome. I would love to build an RC version. I currently have a Kyosho C-124 Globemaster control line kit that I get out of the closet now and then and think of how to construct it to suite my RC needs. There are certainly some challenges but I should be able to pull it off. I went and copied the plans the other night to save the originals from harm. I know that some of the bullet-proof balsa will have to be switched out and that I am going to have to keep the project as light as I can. I purchased 4 AP Yellow Jacket .15 engines for power and am hoping those will be enough to drag her around the sky when I am finished. I have about convinced myself to go with fixed gear to save on weight and complexity (one less thing to worry about). However, I am a scale kind of guy and hate the thought of the gear not retracting. I may decide differently when I actually begin to make hard decisions about this project. Maybe some Spring Airs won't add too many problems. Anyway, I want to have the clamshell doors open in front and have a ramp that I can carry around a plastic military vehicle kit of some type but that decision would be made as I weighed the aircraft along and throughout the construction sequence. I am fairly new to the multiple engine side of things so I have a lot of learning to do prior to getting this project on the bench. I only horn in on this thread because I think much of what is being discussed here is applicable to my project. Anyone out there ever build one of these? Any suggestions I might be able to file away for this project? razorback11
