I need help with my geometry setup on elevators
I have a Hitec programmer and have to get my linkage to the elevators set first before I program them. I have the elevator servos in the fusalage up front as opposed to the rear since I needed the weight up front. My problem is finding the center point of the servo. Now I know that you have to adjust the pushrod length to get the correct travel on the elevators and the equal throw both sides of center on the servo. Now my pushrods are angled off the servo arm slightly since they exit out the sides of the fueslage at the rear.
OK, say I have the push rods hooked up to the control horns on the elevators and I need 50* of travel. The pushrods by the way are carbon fiber rods and both are about two feet long. Now I have watched the downonthedeck videos using the protractors, but should I first aim to have the servo arm lined up 90* to the servo or the servo arm 90* to the pushrod since they are angled slightly? Where should center be? This is where I am having my problem, on the servo end. How do I know how long to make the pushrod if I don't know where center should be?
