Sorry again, AT. I used the Airtronics RD6000 as the main TX and the Airtronics buddy box as the... well, as the buddy box. It did NOT need nor have a battery in it. The RD6000 did.. of course, have a battery else it probably would not have worked
Don't mix apples with oranges here. I did not state that I was using another TX as a buddy box, I simply stated a buddy box. And the main post simply said 'Buddy Box' in which case, as RCKen said, if it was a JR, then it needed a battery. The other 'buddy boxes' did not, do not.
My futaba buddy box is new. Has the square connector on the back versus the old style round connector. It does NOT hava battery. And I use it with the Futaba basic non-computerized radio for the Hobbico Super Star to teach students.
