This isn't the best advice but it works well for noobs.
Buy a temp gauge and tune to about 260 degrees.
Everyone here will tell you not to tune to temperature (including me), but for people new to engine tuning its a useful aide.
You will soon learn what 'sounds' right and how much smoke you want and then you can put you temp gauge in your pit box until you need to break in a new engine.
