RE: help with first time OS engine
So good news, flywheel now spins, bad news motor won’t turn over on its own.
I was able to prime my motor using the blow technique, but instead of physically doing it, I just punched a shot of compressed air in the suggested fuel line, and bam primed.
I heated the engine up with a blow dryer. The flywheel was a bit easier to spin. Lots of oil and gunk everywhere. The starter box spun the flywheel at a solid rpm, the motor chugged away, never turning over on its own. Fuel seemed to be getting to the carb.
My next guess will be to check the glow plug. Please suggest a way to note weather or not my glow plug is in working condition. Apollo’s link to “reading a glow plug” doesn’t yet pertain, I need to know first if the glow plug is working or gets hot enough.
Thanks
