RE: CMP Hellcat

Be aware when you are going to maiden your P-38. This is really, and I emphasize "really" a bad airplane design. We had three of those in our club and lost them all but the last one. That one is still alive, simply because its owner saw ehat happened to the other two. Let me tell you one thing: If you lose an engine in flight, you are done, period. Also when you trim the airplane to make it fly level the elevator will end up in a fifteen degee down position, which looks very odd. This is due to a bad wing incidence in the design of the plane. Overall the plane is too heavy for its size. Too much of a wing loading. But anyway, good luck. Didn't want to scare you, just pre-warn you.
