Not sure this would work on a Firebird but on a full scale they use a small strip (usually triangular to avoid a sharp edge) and run it along the leading edge root toward the tip. It must be carefully placed. When the wing reaches a predetermined AOA the strip breaks the laminar airflow near the root area leaving the tip area flowing smoothly. Thus the root stalls and the tip doesn't. Moving the strips up/down (vertically) on the leading edge adjust the stall points.
