I worked for one of those guys several years ago at Tyndall AFB FLwhen he was the 95th FITS/CC. I was a young Capt T-33 driver. Steve had two stars on his helmet (mig kills) and is a great guy. He was in the back seat of the "pusher" as an F-4 back seat pilot.....yeah there was such a thing during the initial deployment of F-4s to SEA. They all received the Silver Star several years ago (and many years too late) for their deeds. It's amazing how many real heroes we see every day and just dont know it. We didnt know he was one of the Pardo Pushers until after he was gone from the squadron. I've had dinner with all of them in years past and they were great to be around. One of the guys died a few years back from Lou Gehrigs disease. Until the day he died the other three guys took care of him just a brother.
