I would like to see a pic of what would be considered a dry plug and piston, if your engine is firing at all the plug and piston NOT be soaked and should appear to be dry. All due respect to your grandfather, however I have seen it to decieving that the cylinder appear to be very dry and the pipe appear "wet". This can happen when your engine is trying to fire but something is keeping it from "kicking".
