Your going to see 2 gaskets. They are there for proper spacing and compression adjustment. I am not surprised to see the misalignment of the second gasket. When a manufacturer assembles thousands of units there will be 1 or 2 that might get by QC. Now if you call CEN they will be very happy to replace ANY parts that have been damaged on that Engine. Just give customer service a call and they will hook ya up. you should use the second gasket as the compression will be a touch higher and cause possible unneccessary damage to the unit...

I always take apart new engines of all brands to clean out any possible debris that may got in there while manufacturing, it happens in factories...
thats nothing new , it happens with every manufacturer including hpi and traxxas and *duratrax (*you really need to wach out for them bad stuff)you should always go through the truck and check for any parts that are loose or missing loctite, you wont be a happy camper
