Default YS63 new engine running issue, help needed.

I'm trying to troubleshoot either the engine or my ability to tune it. This is the new version YS63, I just got it from Ohio RC. My background is that I have very successfully run old version 63, a 53, a 110, and two stroke 45. I've had these engines apart and replaced a variety of parts over the years. HOWEVER this new engine has me stumped.

It is nearly new probably no more that 30 minutes total run time, none long enough to get into the air. It runs for a bit and dies. Prolonged idle is good at close to 2000rpm. I'm getting great rpm at full throttle. Trouble is it won't run long. Seems like it runs for a bit then just dies. Since there's lots of smoke during transition I was suspecting rich regulator. I reset it to flush, that was worse. Went back in on Reg. and retuned. Seemed to run a bit longer but then exhibited same behavior. Just died, though it seems to slow down as it dies. Seems like still rich on the regulator.

The Reg can be turned in about 4 turns from flush from what I can tell. Is there someone who has experience with this engine and reg who can suggest a good spot for the reg? Flush is not a good setting, very rich. How sensitive is the reg? Should I be making 1/8 turn, 1/2 or full turn on Reg? Do you think this is my problem with this NEW engine. What else do I try before sending it back in?

I have tried new fuel, replaced plug with OS F and YS plug. Engine appears to be running VERY cool to touch (also suggesting RICH setting). Pressure in tank is good and is not leaking down. Fuel is YS20/20 and 30% Heli. Prop is APC 13x4W. Also, when the engine stops I've noted fuel dripping from carb. HELP.
