Get the Avistar
My honest opinion would be to tell you to get the Avistar. It comes prebuilt, with an engine, and a radio. Everything you need. You only need to purchase a 12 volt battery to run your starter(for your engine) and fuel.
You do not use fuel at the gas station. Buy 10% nitro fuel, with castor oil. You can get this at any local hobby store. Tell them you want 10% nitro fuel for an airplane engine. They will give you what you need.
Then go to your club and ask someone there to help you with the setup and the prosedures for starting the engine and taxiing. The people at your local hobby store and/or your club will help you make sure you don't endanger someone else or yourself and you can learn to fly and have lots of fun after you learn. The Avistar is what I learned on and it is a fantastic plane. Go to Tower Hobbies.com and go to the RTF section and order the avistar. It will be completely built for you. All you need is something to start it with and the fuel, and you'll be ready in hours. Make sure you charge the batteries first. Have fun.
