Did you try adding up 1/4" up aileron as "flaps" to slow it down?

When combined with a bit of down elevator, this works fairly well for me. It took 3 flights for me to get the settings right though.

I'm going to try "dirtying" up the surfaces via mixing, to brake it once on the ground....
