Success!!

With my son as assistant, we got the engine fired up yesterday! Woot! Pretty loud! I caved in and bought a Sullivan High-Torque starter to get the thing going. Could not do it with a chicken stick... [sm=disappointed.gif]

But, wow - what a nice, low smooth idle! I could hardly believe the engine could run so slow and be so smooth and quiet. But then at full throttle it roars! [sm=shades_smile.gif]

Some vibration at WOT. Probably, the prop need balancing. How to you balance that 3-blade? [sm=confused.gif]

Here are pics of the Gold-N-Rod installation. On the starboard side, I had to fab in a piece of poly to hold the rod exits. Later, I'll cover around it with UltraCoat and it won't be noticeable.
