There is absolutely no mystery attached to getting your SPE 40 to run well, or does it need any longer than usual break in time. Just be patient with it and follow all the advice and suggestions that you have been given, and it's more than likely you will end up with an engine that is easy to start, relaible and a good performer. So many before you have found it to be so, it should be no different for you.

I ordered a Dynatron starter so maybe starting will be a lot easier!
Not sure about the comment to fly it without a cowl. It is a pain taking it off as don't want to crack it trying to move it over the velocity stack, but theres a large opening into the fuse on the Extra 260 and...
Maybe if I can block it off some how and deflect the air turbulence?
