We all live in an instant gratification time period. Instant glue, ARF, RTF, Electric Starters, blah blah blah... I personally enjoyed buying a SIG 1/5th Cub plan (cause I was a broke 19 yr old) some 1/4" sticks and titebond and plan build one of my most best models. SIG kits are good kits if you have the time and patience.
In MY opinion, plans building or scratch building and flying your work of art is a most gratifying experience
