want to buy it ? make you a great deal --only $109.99 + shipping

Your a little late with the offer. I built both the Hog and the hog Bipe awhile back. They aren't particularly difficult to build. The Hog is considerably better then when it was produced by Berkley in 1958/9. You berate Sterling kits, however they were superb compared to a Berkley kit, Cheezy wood and tinny accessories but absolutely superb plans, generally drawn by McGoveren.
If you wern't in the hobby through the early years till the truly modern era, you have no idea how bad many kits were. Today you have good plans, instruction books and accessories and tools to do everything. There is really no excuse to not be able to turn out a great product. I'm one who says the old days wern't so great except in our memory.

Thank you for all the constructive advice. No I am NOT a master craftperson, but I know a piece of crooked wood when I see one --If you build any thing with substandard material its very hard to build a stright item ! I was flying U-control in 1958 ,so I have seen a few older kits ,and have spent a lot of nights on the kitchen table cutting out (printwood) parts. My major complaint is --I just spent $110.00 for a Kit ,and I think for that much money--Sig ,or any other kit manufacture could supply us with better materials ....PERIOD !.I am going to un-subscribe from this forum .I said my piece -----Joann

It`s easily understood that a "builder" that says a SIG kit is a bad kit is not a builder at all, and most certainly does not know what`s talking about. We must forgive you for your mistake of talking bad about SIG.
SIG is an Institution, an R/C Leyend, you should appologize. Respectfully, JT

I have built 3 sig kits.
LT 40
4*60
40 size cub

the LT40 and the 4* 60 were very very easy to build.
The cub was a LOT more work but it flys great.

Lets see what we have here. It would be easy to make some snide remark to any post and start a flamming war but it is not addressing the problem.
The origional complaint was that he received a kit from sig that had ALL the wood warped, which in 50 years of kit building was only seen in a kit that was in a flooded basement.
I really don't know what his intent was in the post but the advise was to contact Sig and let tHem know that there was a problem and they would resolve it. Yes Sig is an institution in the hobby business. and a company does not survive for 52 years unless it offers quality products and the service to go with those products. That is not some '
builder' talking but simply good business sense on Sigs part
Now the part that I find interesting is that this individual who complains about Sigs lack of ethics, in selling him a bad kit will go on Ebay and sell this 'bad' kit to recoup some of his money back. There seems to be a conflict in ethics here.
As to a builder there have been too many people in this thread who have affirmed their affinity for Sig kits for any one individual to have to champion this or any other company that comes up for discussion on these boards.
Finally as we are all talking from a distance there is a real good chance that someones feelings are going to get hurt when that is not the intention of most people who post on these boards. We are supposed to be broad minded enough to realize that there is a wide latitude for interpritation of any remarks made on these forums. Dennis

I guess you're right.... this is no place to be fighting... the board is to help and share basically. But if he wants to go...I say bye bye. And I hope he stays off from ebay too... I buy most of my rc stuff there, and wouldn't like to be riped off dealing with somebody like that.

Personally, I'd rather see Great Pains drop off the face of the earth.

If you want to unload that Liberty Sport, shoot me an e-mail or PM. I'd be very happy to take it off your hands.
