If you would like to get into RC on a budget it is very do-able.
Radio...futaba or hitec 4 channel... it will come with all the electronic that go in the plane chargers etc
motor....O S LA 45 or Thunder tiger 42 ...these are bushing engines but will run and adjust easy for a new guy.
plane...if you want good flying and cheap go SPAD

This web site has a bunch of free plans and lots of how to do it. The Debonair is easy to build and an acceptable trainer
they also have plans for flight boxes and stuff. these are made from corogated plastic called corplast and signs at gas stations and political signs are made from this. you can also buy it new for around 12 bucks for a 4x8 sheet.

also clubs often have USED PLANES that they make available to new members and a visual inspection will tell if its ok.
I really DO NOT recomemnd used radios or motors unless you really trust the seller.
