I guess, if you're looking for Wal Mart style quality it's ok. It's a Fasst3 2 channel. You don't have an elevator, the speed of the plane governs the altitude. If you're wanting to go that route, then I would suggest going to Wal-Mart. The baddias isn't too bad a plane for someone getting into sailplanes (who already knows how to fly). There are a lot of different trainer planes both electric and glow. You should save your money and buy an RTF trainer from Ken's list. If your budget is really kicking you in the butt (it happens to me quite often) you can build planes from corrugated plastic (SPAD). Campaign signs make great airplanes!
