RE: Help me choose third plane.
Hi Shoegoo,
I took a look at your post the other day and thought I didn't have much to offer, but seeing as no one else has gotten back to you I thought I might mention that I haven't seen the Cargo Trans fly, but I have seen the GWS C47 fly, and it was a challenging plane for the pilot.
Probably the most surprisingly thing was how quickly it had to be flown - this makes sense when you think about it - it's carrying two engines and probably a heavy battery to make sure the amps required can be delivered etc. If you check the website it shows a wing loading of up to 10oz/sq ft - that's heavy and as a consequence it needs to go fast, and if you lose too much energy in a corner she will just stall and go in. In some ways it's like all the worst aspects of a warbird, but a little more so.
All in all it looked like quite a challenging model to fly. The fellow flying it lost it that day, and went home with pieces. While I don't doubt that is is flyable it really needs to be flown like an aircraft. As your first aileron plane as well though I think it may be a bit too much.
Just my 0.02 worth.
Cheers,
Oz.
