Changing wingtip design on Telemaster 40
I am in the process of building a 40 size Telemaster from a kit. It will be gas powered.
I was getting ready to put the wing tips on and had a design inspiration. I really never liked how the undercambered sharp edged wing tips look on most trainers, the Telemaster included. So having an extra piece of triangle stock laying around I decided to experiment.
I basically built the tip upside down so the bottom of the tip matches the bottom of the wing and the top is faired to provide a nice curve down from the top of the wing.
I really like the way it looks but I'm afraid it may adversely affect the way the wing behaves. So before I do the same to the other half and maybe even to the horizontal stab, I was wondering if anyone has a strong opinion about what may happen to the airfoils behavior and performance.
I'll attach a picture as soon as I can.[/size]
