c of g is always a compromise unless you fly electric or have your fuel tank over the wing. Of course to do this you need a fuel pump. Balance with an empty tank and use the most rearward c of g that you can handle. The first thing that happens when the c of g starts to get too rearward is when your model starts to poke its nose up on the landing approach. When this starts to happen you are nearing the ragged edge.
