RE: Trex 600 battery question
I see what you are saying. That's a long time to wait for two packs to charge so you can fly once. The new Align 6S charger/balancer can be found for under $200. If you are on a budget get what you can to start but don’t skimp on batteries because they make the biggest difference in performance. I use FP 4900 packs and they barely get warm. I have setup & flown other peoples using cheaper packs and it would bog the head speeds just doing mild stuff and the packs would get hot and puff in less then 30 flights. The batteries are the MOST important component for a good setup. This is true on any heli.
It doesn’t matter what kind motor you buy if the batteries can’t deliver the power needed. The motor is an electric to mechanical power converter. If your batteries can only deliver x amount of watts, that’s all the motor can put out. I have seen many people buy a “hotrod” motor and see very little performance improvement because of there battery. I’ll charge up one of mine and loan it to them for one flight and there convinced. So don’t buy cheep batteries or you will be buying them again real soon.
