I bought a G-38 used here on RCU. The engine starts great and transitions fine from idle to full on the ground. But in the air it seems to go from low to full and nothing in-between. I changed the linkage to take out some slop. Has anyone else run into this? This is my first gasser. Do I need to put a lot of expo in? I have this on a Ryans Rebel.

BTW the picture shows a Ryobi 31cc. I put the G-38 on this year.
