I especially appreciate the pictures from Deadsticker ... looks like a good idea. I've had good luck with the GP switch and charge jack assembly on other planes and was considering mounting this on the bottom behind the landing gear. But, taking off the canopy is really no big deal on this model to turn off the switch and/or check the battery charge.
