Hi Guys,
Where did you mount your switch for the Sig Somethin Extra? I usually mount my switches on the fuse side to allow external access. But the wing on this model covers most of the area on the fuse side near the Rx position. Right now I've got it velcro'd to the left inside of the fuse above the landing gear mount. It looks like the fuse floor is the best place to cut a hole and mount it, but I figured I'd check to see if anyone else had a better idea.
Thanks,
Carl

If you use the Earnst charge and switch mounts (two separate mounts), they are small enough to mount above the wing.

About the only way you can do it is to mount the switch and charger socket separately.
Try using one of those switches that is mounted inboard, with a small wire sticking out of the side of the fuselage , screwed into the switch lever.

You can try this. Take a good ole epoxy mixing stick (preferabley the large) set your switch cover on it and trace around the opening for the switch. Cut it out with an exacto knife. Drill a small hole on the switch itself and use some music wire (Or any kind of half way stiff wire) and put it through a small hole on the side of the fuse. The charging jack just flaots around in there, but it is easy to get to. Check out the pic....

Thanks Guys!
I especially appreciate the pictures from Deadsticker ... looks like a good idea. I've had good luck with the GP switch and charge jack assembly on other planes and was considering mounting this on the bottom behind the landing gear. But, taking off the canopy is really no big deal on this model to turn off the switch and/or check the battery charge.
Thanks again for the ideas.

Mine just fit vertically on the left side of the fuse right above the wing's leading edge, although I did have to file off the lower right corner of the outer switch cover to clear the wing.
