Default Replacing a Servo

Hi everyone,

I have to replace a servo on my Walkera 5#8. I'm new to the RC world and I sure could use your help.

Here is a video of what the Bad servo is doing. I was told that the gear-stop broke that's why it keeps spinning.

With new servo this is what I think I need to do...
1-Plug the servo into the receiver correctly
2-plug in the battery to the helicopter
3-Turn on the Transmitter/controller and let the heli and controller initiate communication.

At this point the servo should be in the correct position and should be able to attach servo pull rod to the pinion on the servo and make sure the swashplate is straight.

Is this the correct procedure? Thank you in advance for your time.
