Default THREADED CLEVIS

I feel that I have need for a threaded 4/40 clevis.

Most everything that I have seen available (locally) is nothing but a solder unit.

Q) If I add an acid/flux solder to the core of my non threaded clevis, can I drill out the proper amount then "tap" the threads into it?

or

Will I need to use a SILVER SOLDER or again, must I BRAZE with something like copper?

I know that I can do this, but, will the new threads HOLD UP?
