Aileens Tacky Glue (gold bottle at craft stores). It is a PVA glue (Vinyl based white glue) and stays flexible. Much like Type 56 canopy glue but cheaper.

If you want a more flexible glue go to a boating supply store and get some of the adhesives they use for deck hardware.
