All I can tell you about the throttle linkage is that it's worth doing whatever it takes to get it right. I use piano wire now and find it works much better than throttle cable. I have a thing on my web site about how to do it, but I don't remember the url off the top of my head. There's a link to it from this page though:

It doesn't cover using bellcranks though - just how to set up a solid basic throttle pushrod.
