I'm putting this in Beginners b/c that's what I am.
Anyone, I've done extensive reading here in the forums, but programming my 9C for my US120 is still difficult.
First problem: the receiver that comes with the 9C uses the last channel (no. 8) for the battery. Futaba says use this channel to plug in one of the ailerons, and leave ch. 5 blank.
Am I supposed to use a Y-harness here?
I figured Futaba would have said so if I was supposed to do this.
Thanks for any help!

Paul, plug the battery into any unused hole, they are all connected togrther on the + and - side. The third lead (signal) is what is specific to the servo it controls. If you ever run out of open holes, then yes you can use a Y. Hope thishelps.

paul, since our meeting I messed around with my 9c and found out how to do quad flaps with a glider program,
maybe after you get in a few flights with the stick and get comfortable with it I can show you what I found out.

I'm going to have someone at the local flight club trim the plane out for me before I tackle this rather large plane myself.
By the way, I'm a Cafeen Man too (unfortunately, i'm at 6 to 8 cups per day)

All I can tell you about the throttle linkage is that it's worth doing whatever it takes to get it right. I use piano wire now and find it works much better than throttle cable. I have a thing on my web site about how to do it, but I don't remember the url off the top of my head. There's a link to it from this page though:
http://www.airfieldmodels.com/engines.htm
It doesn't cover using bellcranks though - just how to set up a solid basic throttle pushrod.
