No, the plans from Fred are certainly not bad. In fact, they are very well done. When I bought the plans from Fred I was living about 20 miles from him in Michigan so I went to his house to pick the plans up and had a chance to see a Catalina he had built from the plans and it turned out well. The plans were just a bit more than I cared to tackle at the time and then I saw Bill Price's kit with the fiberglass fuselage and decided to go that way instead of using Fred's plans. I just looked at the plans for the first time in a few years and they are as new as when he sold them to me right after he ran the blueprints 3 sheets of plans and one of supplemental parts.
