Welcome to RCU. What brand of plane are you looking at, and is it ready to fly with motor, esc, radio, batteries, charger, etc.? Can you give us more info and/or a link to what you are looking at?

As for your choice, Cubs generally don't make good trainers, but since I fly nitro I'm not very familiar with the EP Cubs out there. Keep away from the ducted fan - they are not trainers and fly quite fast.
