Let's not exagerate - I don't see where this DA bashing is helpful - we all know it's more expensive, but that is where the difference ends.
I have both engines and they run about the same. Given the same plane, gas and prop, you would get the same results for a well tuned DL or DA - tried that several times and have not been able to extract more performance from one or the other. They are perfectly interchangeable and it's very convinient to swap them when needed.
There is really very little difference between the two as one is a clone of the other and they have the same Walbro 201 carb.
Adjusting the DL seems to be a little easier - I will give you that.
A well broken-in and tuned DA on pipe will provide nearly 7.4K rpm on a 23x8 - I have yet to see a DL do that. I would actually be hesitant to try this on A DL being that it is cast, rather than machined. Might not be able to take the high temp that well...

Yep I sold my DA50 in favour of the DL50 my DL out performes MY DA in every aspect run the DL for a little while and you will putting it in your #1 plane.
